What We Do
Lifeline4Moms helps organizations and agencies to develop, implement, evaluate, and sustain approaches for addressing mental health and substance use disorders. Our team is comprised of academic and clinical experts in perinatal mental health, program development, implementation science, health policy, and research and evaluation. We work with health systems, medical practices, state and federal agencies and other organizations.
Why Choose Us?
The Lifeline4Moms Founders and Leadership Team, Drs. Byatt, Biebel and Moore Simas, are the leaders and core development and implementation team behind the first in the nation, population-based program to address perinatal depression in primary care settings. Established in 2014, the Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Program for Moms (MCPAP for Moms) is a feasible, acceptable, and sustainable model that helps front line providers address perinatal mental health. In its first three years, MCPAP for Moms provided over 3,000 clinical encounters, and served more than 3,000 perinatal women with mental health or substance use disorders. These same faculty members are the Principal Investigators of the first in nation (and only), $2.5 million award from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This award is for the purposes of refining, evaluating, and disseminating a sustainable stepped care program in Ob/Gyn outpatient settings to improve perinatal women’s mental health treatment rates and outcomes. As such, the Lifeline4Moms founders are leading the nation in establishing best practices and the evidence base for integrating mental health care into primary care settings, and are well suited to support others in program design, development, implementation and evaluation.
